Privacy Policy

Quietude is built privacy-first. Your data stays on your device. There's no account to create, no tracking, and nothing to sell. This policy explains exactly what that means.
The short version
- No account required for the free plan. You can use every core feature without signing up or giving us any personal information.
- Local-first storage. On the free plan, your sessions, mood ratings, and gratitude entries are stored only in your browser, on your device.
- Cloud storage is for paid users only. Your data is stored in the cloud only if you upgrade to Lifetime — it's kept securely following industry best practices and is never shared with third parties (see Section 3).
- No analytics or tracking. We don't use cookies for advertising, fingerprinting, or behavioural profiling.
- We never sell your data. Your wellness data is never sold or shared for marketing — ever.
1. Information stored on your device
When you use Quietude, the following is saved locally in your browser using IndexedDB and local storage:
- Session records — the practice you chose, duration, and your before/after intensity ratings.
- Gratitude journal entries you write.
- Preferences — volume, haptics, onboarding status, and entitlement flags.
On the free plan, this information never leaves your device. Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app will permanently delete it, and we cannot recover it for you. On the paid Lifetime plan, this same information is automatically synced to the cloud so it can be backed up and restored (see Section 3).
2. Information we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, or device identifiers for the core experience. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not build a profile of you.
3. Cloud storage (paid plan only)
Your data is stored in the cloud only if you are a paid user. On the free plan nothing ever leaves your device. When you purchase the one-time Lifetime plan, cloud backup & sync is enabled automatically. From that point on, your session records, mood ratings, and gratitude entries are synced to our cloud storage so they are backed up and available across your devices. This is a core part of the paid plan rather than an optional toggle.
We treat this data with care and follow industry security best practices to keep it safe: it is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS), stored on secured infrastructure with restricted access, and used solely to provide the backup-and-sync feature — never for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.
We never sell or share your data with third parties for marketing or any commercial purpose. The only parties that ever touch it are the trusted infrastructure providers we rely on to host and operate the service, who are bound to process it only on our instructions. If you wish to stop syncing and have your cloud copy deleted, contact us at the email below and we will remove it.
4. Payments
Purchases are handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card number. The processor handles your payment details under its own privacy policy and applicable payment-security standards. We only receive confirmation that a purchase was completed so we can unlock your entitlement.
5. Offline use & caching
Quietude is a Progressive Web App. To work offline, it uses a service worker to cache the app's files (code, styles, fonts, icons) on your device. This cache contains application assets only — never your personal content — and is managed by your browser.
6. Children's privacy
Quietude is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the app does not collect personal information in the first place, this is largely moot — but if you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us.
7. Your rights & control
You can view, edit, or delete any entry within the app at any time, and you can erase everything stored on your device by clearing the app's storage in your browser settings. On the free plan, this gives you full control with no request to us required. On the paid Lifetime plan, to also delete the copy synced to our cloud, email us at the address below and we'll remove it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
