Welcome to Quietude. By using the app, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully — especially the note that Quietude is a wellness tool, not medical care.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using Quietude (the "app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These terms apply to all visitors and users.

3. Use at your own risk

Quietude uses audio frequencies, binaural beats, and guided breathing exercises. These may not be suitable for everyone. Do not use the app while driving or operating machinery, and do not listen at high volume. If you have epilepsy, a seizure disorder, a heart condition, or are pregnant, consult a doctor before use. Stop immediately and seek medical advice if you feel dizzy, unwell, or experience any discomfort.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use Quietude. By using the app you represent that you meet this requirement.

5. Your content

Gratitude journal entries and other content you create belong to you. On the free plan, this content is stored locally on your device, and you are responsible for backing it up; we are not responsible for content lost when you clear your browser data, switch devices, or uninstall the app. On the paid Lifetime plan, your content is automatically synced to the cloud so it is backed up and available across your devices.

6. Purchases & the Lifetime plan

Quietude's core practices are free. We also offer a one-time Lifetime purchase that unlocks extras, including automatic cloud backup & sync. Key points:

• One-time payment. The Lifetime plan is a single charge, not a recurring subscription.
• Automatic cloud sync. Once you upgrade, your data is automatically synced to the cloud as a built-in part of the plan, so it's backed up and available across your devices. See our Privacy Policy for how this data is handled.
• Payment processing. Purchases are handled by a third-party payment processor under its own terms.
• Refunds. If you're unhappy with a purchase, contact us — we'll work with you in good faith, subject to the payment processor's and applicable consumer-protection rules.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app — including attempting to reverse-engineer it for malicious purposes, disrupt its operation, or use it in any unlawful way. The app is provided for your personal, non-commercial use.

8. Intellectual property

The Quietude name, design, audio engine, written content, and branding are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from them without permission. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal purposes.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular result or sense of calm will be achieved.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Quietude and its maker will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, if any.

11. Changes to the app and these terms

We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time, and we may revise these terms as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing terms

These terms are governed by the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which the app is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
